Hello all, I’m Janice, 49 with 3 adult children and 2 granddaughters. I work in office setting doing data entry. I just purchased my 1st home (it’ll be a yr next month). My youngest is in his 3rd yrs of college. I like to indulge in any kind of self care that involves me doing nothing lol. My mom just moved in with me in July and we nvr really had a good relationship but she is a breast cancer survivor and just turned 80 today. I’m learning to be more patient. So any ideas or advice is appreciated.
Just Janice

Yay for you and your Mom. I am a Breast Cancer survivor too as well as an Ovarian Cancer survivor.
Janice, I don't know at all if this will help, but my mother was abusive when I was young to the point that the family felt it necessary to place in a convent (boarding school). I was there from age 6 to 14.
Over my later years I learned to understand exactly what it was like from her point of view and there were absolutely reasons why the incidents happened. I am only telling you that to maybe suggest, since you are so brave to have her with you, that you try putting your pain away a little and understand the story of her life. You may be surprised to learn about her and it may help your situation. My Mom died too young, she was 76 and I was only in my 40s and I still had not understood what it was like for her and why the incidents happened. Every day now I say 'Mommy I am so sorry - I understand now, thank you so much for having me'. Oh my Janice that was such a hard journey. I so hope that you and your Mom can reconcile and that you have the opportunity to give her your love while she is still alive. If you want to hear more about the story just ask - I'll be happy to tell you. It's not a secret ;)
