- She removed herself from a toxic art collaboration that no longer served her well-being.
- Despite facing significant physical challenges, Zoie stayed grounded in nature, spending her time in the country doing physical work like cutting wood, maintaining trails, and connecting deeply with the earth.
- She sought the help she needed to navigate a challenging situation at home, where she supported her partner through a mental health crisis.
Member Spotlight: Celebrating Zoie
This month, we’re excited to spotlight a remarkable member of our community who radiates strength, resilience, and positivity.
Before 2024 ended, we asked our community “What is your biggest accomplishment of 2024?”
We received so many amazing responses, but one stood out that we just had to share.
Meet Zoie—a true inspiration who reminds us that no matter what life throws our way, we can live a life full of passion, purpose, and adventure.
This year, Zoie demonstrated incredible strength and resilience:
- She removed herself from a toxic art collaboration that no longer served her well-being.
- Despite facing significant physical challenges, Zoie stayed grounded in nature, spending her time in the country doing physical work like cutting wood, maintaining trails, and connecting deeply with the earth.
- She sought the help she needed to navigate a challenging situation at home, where she supported her partner through a mental health crisis.
Believe it or not, it wasn’t until this year—at 72—that Zoie began to truly dedicate herself to self-care. She embraced this journey with grace and determination, proving that it’s never too late to make your well-being a priority.
Zoie’s philosophy? “You can do anything you want to do – anything you “want” to do. If you don’t really want to do it you will always find excuses. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll find the strength to do anything you desire,” She encourages everyone to find what lights them up and go after
it with determination and honesty.
Her word for the year, Transformation, was the guiding force behind her journey. Zoie embraced every challenge with courage, emerging stronger, wiser, and more joyful.
Reflecting on her year, Zoie says: “While I didn’t do much in 2024, I did learn alot. All of those things taught me too how important self-care is and it is permanently on my list until the day I die 😉 “
Zoie, your story is a reminder that it’s never too late to embrace new opportunities, grow, and thrive. You inspire us all to live our best lives, no matter what or how old.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and your 2024 journey with us.

Wow - I am so very honoured that you found my story to be worth bringing to everyone's attention. I am new here so as far as an introduction goes I guess the above says it all. I can add that I dance (Silver Swans - ballet and Ukrainian dancing - Seniors Can Shumka Too). I am a writer, a builder (DIY Synth equipment), a musician, a photographer and above all a learner. I am a multipotentialite (see Emily Wapnick) but one that is very gentle with myself now :) Thank you so much for the very surprising spotlight.
Parting words - make the most of your life. Live it! From bubble baths, to time just sitting and watching out the window or sitting outside, just watching to whatever fills your heart with joy. You can absolutely do anything you want, it may have to be modified a little ;) but that's okay.
